Overview

Horizon Screenshot is a macOS menu bar screenshot tool built by Horizon Studios LLC. It captures regions of your screen, stitches scrolling content, and saves images to a folder you choose. The app is built with privacy at its core — no account is needed, no personal data is collected, and your screenshots never leave your Mac.

Data Collection

Horizon Screenshot stores the following data locally on your Mac:

  • Your settings and preferences (save path, hotkeys, image format)
  • License key (if activated)
  • Trial start date

We do not collect:

  • Your screenshots or any image data
  • Personal information of any kind
  • Screen content or browsing activity
  • Device identifiers for advertising
  • Analytics or behavioral tracking data
  • Any data for the purpose of selling to third parties

Screen Recording Permission

Horizon Screenshot requires macOS Screen Recording permission to function. This permission allows the app to capture the portion of your screen you select. Screenshots are saved directly to your chosen folder on your Mac. They are never uploaded, transmitted, or shared with anyone — including us.

Data Storage

All settings are stored locally in macOS UserDefaults. Screenshots are saved to the folder you choose (Desktop by default). There is no cloud sync and no account system. Your data never leaves your Mac.

Third-Party Services

Horizon Screenshot uses the following third-party service:

  • Lemon Squeezy — for license key activation and validation. When you enter a license key, the app sends the key to Lemon Squeezy's API to verify it. No other data is transmitted.

No other third-party services are used. There are no advertising SDKs, analytics platforms, or tracking services in the app.

Purchases

Horizon Screenshot is a one-time purchase ($9.99) with a 14-day free trial. The purchase is processed through Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record. We do not see or store your payment information — all payment processing is handled by Lemon Squeezy.

Children's Privacy

Horizon Screenshot does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The app is safe for all ages because it collects no personal data and contains no advertising, behavioral tracking, accounts, or social features.

Data Retention

All data is stored locally on your Mac. You are in complete control. Deleting the app removes all settings. Your screenshots remain in the save folder you chose — they are ordinary image files on your disk.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
